DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 10 April\, at 9.15 a.m.\, in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Boilleau\, a study day will be held entitled ‘Words and music from the Soviet underground. A retrospective from bards to rock artists’. \nThe day\, organised by Sara Manzi and Marco Sabbatini\, is part of the initiatives of the Departmental Centre for Advanced Humanities Studies on Russia and the Slavic World (CARMS) and the research portal Voci Libere in URSS. The proceedings start with a section dedicated to the genesis of the phenomenon and singer-songwriting. In the second part\, the interventions focus on the more mature phase in the USSR in the 1980s\, highlighting its peculiar features. The event will conclude with a meeting with singer-songwriter Polina Barankova and a performance\, which will continue in the evening at the ‘Volta Pagina’ literary café.
